On the 20th, a showcase commemorating the release of Jaehwan Kim's 6th mini album 'JAM' was held at Ilji Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul.
"JAM" stands for "Journey Above Music," which means "a new journey beyond music." Even now that his dream has come true, there are countless pieces of music that he has yet to experience, that he is curious about, and that he wants to try, so it contains Kim Jae-hwan's desire to learn more and move forward in a better way through a new journey.
Kim Jae-hwan, who is making a comeback after 3 months since the release of his single 'Spring Breeze' in March, said, "I lived for this album for the past 3 months. I gave up everything I wanted to do. I thought it was the last time and worked on it." He also confessed, "I'm excited because it's the style I've been wanting to do for a while," and "It feels like I'm making a new debut as a solo singer. I can't even remember where Kim Jae-hwan went. I was preparing for this time and was full of excitement, nervousness, and excitement when I debuted."
The title song 'Gain Gain (Feat. BOBBY)' contains witty and unique lyrics about throwing away all worries and worries and enjoying this moment with excitement. Regarding the reason for the change, he said, "I wanted to quench my thirst to do what I wanted to do. I thought that an exciting, funky feeling suited me well. Ballads are quiet songs, aren't they? 'I want to sleep' compares the desire to fall asleep when stressed to a romantic relationship. 'Daylight' contains a promise to be with the person you love forever. 'Spring Breeze' is a song that stimulates the nostalgia of spring.
Regarding the b-side song 'Champagne', Kim Jae-hwan explained, "I debuted as an idol, and fans have had a thirst for my idol-like appearance. So, I put a lot of songs like this in this album. It's one of the songs that can quench that thirst." did. He also surprised everyone by revealing, "Didn't you say that you gave up a lot? You've been 'stopping drinking' for the 54th day." He also promised, "If I get momentum, I will do my next activity."
Kim Jaehwan also lost 5kg in weight. He said, "I went on a diet. I was 63kg, but now I'm 58kg." He also hinted, "I have about 2 six packs left."
Kim Jae-hwan said that he likes 'I want to sleep' the most among the b-side tracks. He explained the reason, "When I sing this song, I feel like I'm actually arguing with my lover. Because the lyrics are realistic, I can empathize." After listening to 'Daylight', he said, "When you listen to Psy's song, it's a ballad, but doesn't it also have a dance element? I want to be like that too."
As much as the 'Challenge', where you take a part of a song and point choreography and upload it online, is popular, Jaehwan Kim also showed off the 'gain gain' challenge he had prepared. He was confident, “I practice a lot, so I do it even while sleeping,” but he stuttered the choreography and made people laugh.
Through this activity, Kim Jae-hwan said, "I want to show my presence. You have a desire to do things that others do not do and to become the unrivaled Kim Jae-hwan. You have a lot of creative ideas, so I hope you come up with them. I want to hear that this stage is the starting point and that I am versatile.
