Girl group Blackpink's Jisoo topped the global YouTube music chart with her first solo album 'ME'.
According to the agency YG Entertainment on the 9th, in the latest chart released by YouTube (2023.03.31 ~ 2023.04.06), Jisoo's solo album title song 'FLOWER' ranked in the top 100 global YouTube songs and the most viewed music video in the world. Ranked 1st.
The music video for 'FLOWER' is receiving an explosive response immediately after its release on the 31st of last month. It went straight to the top spot as a worldwide trending video on YouTube and became the ‘most viewed video in 24 hours.’
On April 8, it reached 100 million views, becoming the team's 41st video to reach 100 million views. The visual beauty reminiscent of a movie, Jisoo's ever-changing charms that change with each chapter, and an overwhelming performance that maximized the song's theme stood out.
Thanks to the popularity of the 'FLOWER' music video, Blackpink's official YouTube channel is also experiencing explosive growth. Since the release of 'ME', Blackpink's existing hit songs have also been rapidly increasing in number of views, reaching new records of hundreds of millions of views every day, and the number of subscribers to the official YouTube channel (currently over 86.3 million) has increased by nearly 1.1 million.
'FLOWER' is showing off its powerful potential not only on YouTube but also on various global charts. She set a new record by entering the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, and the UK's Official Singles Chart, at No. 6 and No. 38, respectively, the highest rankings for a K-pop female solo artist.
