Cindy Williams, who played Shirley Finney in the popular American TV sitcom 'Happy Days' and its spin-off 'Laverne & Shirley', has passed away. Age 75.
Williams' children announced through a spokesperson that Williams passed away in Los Angeles on the 25th after a short illness.
In a statement, Williams' children said: "The death of our kind and delightful mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us truly inexpressible sorrow. It was our joy and privilege to know and love her. She was kind, beautiful and beautiful. “Everyone loved him because he was generous, had a great sense of humor and a brilliant spirit,” he wrote.
Williams achieved great success through her role as Shirley in 'Happy Days.' This sitcom was so popular that a spin-off 'Laverne & Shirley' was produced. 'Laverne & Shirley' was produced for eight seasons from 1976 to 1983. This work also received six Golden Globe nominations and one Emmy nomination.
According to Williams' friend Bruce Kimmel, Williams was looking forward to promoting "Sami," a short-form musical series set to premiere this year. “I had her with me just two months ago as I was editing and finishing my web series,” Kimmel said. “I am so grateful that she has been an important part of my life for almost 60 years. I will miss her like crazy, but it’s our last time together. “I’m so happy to be working and can’t wait for the show to air.” He continued, "She was funny, charming and wonderful to the end. I have never met anyone like her."
Williams was married to Bill Hudson from 1982 to 2000, but they divorced. He has one son and one daughter.
