Lee Ha-nui told stories about her work and life in an interview with the movie 'Ghost' (director Lee Hae-young) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 12th.
On this day, Lee Ha-nui talked about a scene in the movie where she lends a cigarette to Nan-yeong (played by Lee So-dam) and shares a cigarette with Yuriko (played by Park So-dam). Lee Ha-nui said, “I acted with the understanding that the smoking scene was a ‘breathing hole’ for Cha-kyung,” and added, “I thought it was a breathing hole, a moment of comfort given the circumstances of the time.”
Honey Lee said, "In everyday life, there are many cases where we are unable to breathe properly than we think. That's why there is a breathing method, and I thought that I smoke because I can't breathe comfortably. 'I'm going to smoke a cigarette' means 'I'm going to smoke.' “I think it means, ‘I’ll breathe comfortably and come back,’” he said. “I thought that sharing a cigarette in such a situation was like sharing our daily lives as breathing holes.”
He continued, "I practiced smoking a lot. I was not a smoker, so I practiced a lot. Smokers knew when non-smokers were smoking. I thought I shouldn't be caught," he said. "I bought nicotine-free cigarettes in bulk and practiced every night. It was the first time." “In the past, even holding a cigarette was awkward, but now I’ve gone as far as saying, ‘This is why people smoke,’” he said, making people laugh.
In 'Ghost', Lee Ha-nui played the role of Park Cha-kyung, the person in charge of secret text records at the Government General. In the play, he showed off intense action acting, including a bare-bones fight with Junji (Sol Kyeong-gu), the supervisor of the communications department at the Government General of the country.
'Ghost' is a story about the desperate struggle of suspects trapped in a remote hotel under suspicion as 'ghosts', spies planted by an anti-Japanese organization planted at the Japanese Government-General of Korea in Gyeongseong in 1933, and the unstoppable operation of the real 'ghosts' to overcome suspicion and escape. .
