'Decision To Leave' Park Chan-wook, will he lift the US Golden Globe trophy?
Can ‘Decision to Break Up’ lift the Golden Globe trophy?

'Decision to Break Up' (directed by Park Chan-wook) was nominated for Best Motion Picture, Non English Language at the 80th Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California, USA on the 10th (local time).

The Golden Globes is an awards ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and held every year in Los Angeles, USA. It is considered a representative awards ceremony held in the United States along with the Academy Awards.

'Decision to Break Up' is a movie about a detective named Hae-joon (played by Park Hae-il), who was assigned to investigate an accidental death in the mountains, and begins feeling both suspicion and interest when he meets the deceased's wife, Seo-rae (played by Tang Wei).

Along with 'Decision to Break Up', the non-English language Best Picture nominees are 'RRR: Rise Lower Revolt' (India), 'All Is Wrong on the Western Front' (Germany), 'Argentina, 1985' (Argentina), and 'Close' (Netherlands, France, Belgium). The back rose.

Previous non-English-language Best Picture awards include ‘Minari’ (director Lee Isaac Chung, winner in 2021) and ‘Parasite’ (director Bong Joon-ho, winner in 2020). In addition, films such as ‘Rom’ (director Alfonso Cuaron, award winner in 2019), ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ (director Ang Lee, award winner in 2001), and ‘Farewell My Concubine’ (director Chen Kaige, award winner in 1994) have received sensational responses worldwide. The work I created has won awards.

Expectations are high on whether 'Decision to Break Up' will become the first Korean film to win the Best Picture Award in a non-English language following 'Parasite'.

Starting with the Best Director Award at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival, 'Decision to Break Up' has been invited to leading overseas film festivals such as the New York Film Festival, Fantastic Fest in the U.S., and the Toronto International Film Festival, creating a huge stir.
