Actress Jeong Ga-eun expressed satisfaction with the movie ‘A Life of No Matter’, which she filmed after losing 7kg. He asked me to help him find the main shrine.
On the afternoon of the 5th, a press screening was held for the movie 'A Life of No Matters' (director Seo Dong-heon) at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Directors Jeong Ga-eun, Kwak Pil-je, and Seo Dong-heon attended the press conference held after the preview.
'An Unimportant Life' is a time-slip fantasy melodrama about Lee Seon, who goes to the past right before he dies, encounters his old lovers and tries to find love once again.
On this day, director Seo Dong-heon said about the reason for planning 'A Life of Nothing Special', "In life, you meet this person and that, but don't you pass by without noticing it other than the time you spend with that person? For example, when lovers break up, they don't want to be hurt, so they are mean to that person. “You can talk, right?” he said.
He continued, “If I say something that is different from what I really wanted, and if I break up and don’t see him for the rest of my life until I die, the other person will listen to what I say to the end and wonder if it might hurt that person, and if I go back in time and experience the situation again like in our movie, “I planned it in the hope that people would think differently,” he added.
Jeong Ga-eun plays the main character Lee Seon, who tries to disguise an extreme choice in the play. Lee Seon is a character who goes on a time travel to look back on his past before he dies.
Jeong Ga-eun said, "As soon as I saw the script, I thought, 'Oh, it's me.' I wasn't confident that I could play the lead actor in a movie. However, I felt that the role of Lee Seon was fundamentally similar to me, so I would give it a try if I were to play a role like this. “I thought I could take on the challenge, I thought I could become Lee Seon,” he said, revealing the reason for his choice.
Director Seo Dong-heon mentioned the reason for casting Jeong Ga-eun. He was satisfied, "I was originally a fan of actress Jeong Ga-eun. When I came up with the image during my broadcast activities, it fit perfectly with the Lee Seon I had drawn in my head. Not only actress Jeong Ga-eun, but also the character and the actual character matched the image."
He also said, "When I first met him, I thought he was a fool. That's why I was worried about how to live in this harsh world. I thought it was Lee Seon. The actor Jeong Ga-eun was pure and hard-working than I thought. I watched the script every day to the point that it ran out in places I couldn't see. “I think it’s thanks to that that I’ve come this far,” he said.
Jeong Ga-eun started to lose weight for the scene in which she appears in a bikini. “He would be surprised if he knew my age,” he said. “I’m in my 20s, so I put a lot of effort into how I speak and look like someone in my 20s. The director asked if I could do a bikini scene. “I was told I could do it and show off my cool side, so I did pilates, swimming, and diet three times a week for about five months and lost 6 to 7 kg,” he explained.
Lastly, director Seo Dong-heon said, "The budget was lower than that of an independent low-budget film. I am grateful to the actors and staff who persevered and followed along. I hope that it will not be in vain and that a good result will come out. If one actor receives a big opportunity, our film will be a success. “He said. Jeong Ga-eun said, "I have a lot of friends who want to act even if it's not a big movie. There are also a lot of friends who can't because they don't have that opportunity. I hope there are more opportunities for actors to act without worrying about A or B grades."
Meanwhile, 'An Unimportant Life' will be released on the 12th.
