The behind-the-scenes still released on the 3rd catches the eye with the close relationship between Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin, two characters who had a single purpose but whose negotiation methods were polar opposites.
First, Hwang Jung-min, who plays Jeong Jae-ho, a diplomat specializing in negotiations who prioritizes principles, shows that, unlike his character in the play, he led the atmosphere of the scene comfortably with his cheerful energy.
Hyun Bin, who plays the role of Park Dae-sik, a National Intelligence Service agent specializing in the Middle East and Central Asia who has extensive experience in the field, played a friendly joke with Hwang Jung-min on set, giving an idea of the real-life chemistry between the two.
Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin have always been close friends, but this is their first time working on the same project. Hyun Bin said of Hwang Jung-min, "He is a senior and older brother whom I can rely on and learn from a lot. While working together on set, I learned a lot of positive energy and felt a lot of different perspectives on making a movie. So, there was a lot of difference before and after the 'negotiation', and one word: “It was a ‘good stimulant,’” he said.
Moreover, Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin showed a warm atmosphere without showing any signs of difficulty even though the filming was conducted on location in Jordan amidst a pandemic situation with many uncontrollable variables, raising expectations for the acting synergy that will be achieved in 'Negotiation'.
The movie 'Negotiation' depicts the negotiation operation between a diplomat and a local National Intelligence Service agent who went to Afghanistan to rescue Koreans who were taken hostage by the Taliban in the worst kidnapping incident.
Released on January 18th.
