Kim Byung-man Shares Excitement for New Survival Show 'Survival King'
Kim Byung-man expressed his thoughts on joining the jungle not as part of 'Law of the Jungle' but as a participant in 'Survival King'.

On the 7th, TV Chosun's new variety show 'Survival King: Tribe Wars' (hereafter referred to as 'Survival King') held an online press conference. Attendees included Kim Byung-man, Choo Sung-hoon, Lee Seung-gi, Amotti, Kim Min-ji, Jung Ji-hyun, Kim Dong-jun, CP Lee Seung-hoon, and PD Yoon Jong-ho.

'Survival King' is a survival variety show where 12 elite members, divided into four teams—Physical, Jungle, Soldier, and National Representative—compete in a remote jungle for 10 days, living self-sufficiently and battling through three rounds to determine the 'ultimate survivor'.

PD Yoon Jong-ho explained the title 'Survival King', saying, "We chose the intuitive name because it's a show to select the strongest survivor in the jungle. We had a lot of discussions about the subtitle, and Kim Dong-hyun, who experienced alliances and betrayals like a tribe, came up with the idea. It was decided unanimously."

Regarding the casting criteria, he said, "We wanted to gather the strongest in each field. We assembled the jungle team with Kim Byung-man, who has 11 years of experience in 'Law of the Jungle', and Little Kim Byung-man, Kim Dong-jun. The soldier team was a bit challenging. We considered gathering only the winners of 'Steel Troops', but we decided to lead with Lee Seung-gi, the prince of wild variety shows from '1 Night 2 Days'."

'Jungle Team Leader' Kim Byung-man stated, "I participated not as a chief from another show ('Law of the Jungle') but as a team member. I'm already addicted to the remote jungle. It's become a habit to keep setting up bases and creating things in various spaces. I was waiting for someone to set up such a stage."

He added, "When TV Chosun contacted me, I packed my bags immediately. I thought I should try things I hadn't done before and ideas I had for years. I went with a joyful heart, having supplemented my physical strength."

'Survival King' premieres on October 7 at 10 PM.
