Previously, in May of last year, a controversy arose when a woman in her 30s died at a psychiatric hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, where Hani's fiancé, psychiatrist and broadcaster Yang Jae-woong, serves as the chief director. The couple faced backlash when their engagement was announced in August, leading to Hani's social media being flooded with criticism, her withdrawal from scheduled programs, and the postponement of their September wedding.
