Kim Soo-hyun's Taiwan Fan Meeting Canceled Amid Controversy Over Past Relationship Allegations

Actor Kim Soo-hyun's scheduled fan meeting in Taiwan has been canceled following allegations of a past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron during her minor years.

On the 25th, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, announced that "due to safety concerns, Kim Soo-hyun's Taiwan brand event has been postponed."

Taiwan's 7-Eleven, the event organizer, confirmed the cancellation of the fan meeting, which was set for the 30th. Through their official Facebook page, they stated, "Kim Soo-hyun will not be able to attend the event due to schedule adjustments. All points used for event entry will be fully refunded," providing detailed instructions on how to receive the refund.

The fan meeting was part of the 'Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival,' and Kim Soo-hyun was expected to attend as a brand model for Taiwan's 7-Eleven.

Industry insiders speculate that the cancellation could result in a penalty fee of around 30 million Taiwanese dollars (approximately 1.32 billion Korean won). Kim Soo-hyun's appearance fee was reportedly 13.17 million Taiwanese dollars (about 600 million Korean won). Advertising contracts often include clauses requiring payment of 2 to 3 times the advertising fee in case of social controversy or legal issues.

Previously, the family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed through the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Institute' that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun from November 19, 2015, when she was in her third year of middle school, until July 7, 2021. They also alleged that after leaving her agency, Gold Medalist sent a notice demanding repayment of a 700 million won debt, causing psychological pressure.

Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted these claims, stating that they dated from the summer of 2019, when Kim Sae-ron was an adult, until the fall of 2020. The two parties continue to dispute the truth of these allegations.
