It has been two years since the passing of Moonbin, a beloved member of the K-pop group ASTRO.
Moonbin was found deceased at his home on April 19, 2023, at the age of 25. His agency, Fantagio, released a statement at the time, saying, "Moonbin has suddenly left us to become a star in the sky. All ASTRO members, fellow artists, and staff who have been with him for a long time are mourning the loss in great sadness and shock." In accordance with his family's wishes, a memorial space was set up on the rooftop of the agency's building.
Following the tragic news, ASTRO members and fellow entertainers expressed their condolences. Members like Cha Eun-woo and JinJin, as well as artists from SEVENTEEN such as Seungkwan, Woozi, and Boo Seungkwan, shared their messages of remembrance. Notably, Woozi released a song titled 'Some Future' on Moonbin's first birthday after his passing.
On the second anniversary of his passing, a tribute song titled 'Door in the Dream' will be released at 6 PM, featuring ASTRO members MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun-woo, and Yoon San-ha, along with Moonbin's sister Moon Sua from the group Billlie, and artists from VIVIZ, MONSTA X's Minhyuk, Kihyun, and I.M, SEVENTEEN's Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Dokyeom, and Seungkwan, Hello Gloom, Rocky, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, SF9's Chani, and Stray Kids' Bang Chan, totaling 22 participants.
Born in 1998, Moonbin began his career as a child actor. He appeared in TVXQ's 'Balloons' music video in 2006 and played a young Kim Bum in the 2009 drama 'Boys Over Flowers.' He debuted with ASTRO in 2016 and excelled as a singer, actor, and model. He also performed as part of the unit 'Moonbin & Sanha' with fellow member Yoon San-ha.
