Lee Dong-wook and Lee Joo-bin have begun to redefine their relationship.
In the latest episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Divorce Insurance' (directed by Lee Won-seok and Choi Bo-kyung, written by Lee Tae-yoon, planned by CJ ENM and Studio Genie, produced by Mongjakso and Studio Mondo), which aired on the 21st, No Gi-jun (played by Lee Dong-wook) and Kang Han-deul (played by Lee Joo-bin) started living in each other's homes. As their daily lives together became routine, they faced unexpected conflicts over the divorce of Park Young-kyu and Woo Sun-hee (played by Cha Mi-kyung). However, a candid conversation helped them overcome the crisis, and the episode ended with a near-kiss moment, hinting at a new phase in their relationship.
The house-swapping brought various changes for No Gi-jun and Kang Han-deul. No Gi-jun suggested living in each other's homes for a month, as he had no fond memories of his own. Thus, they stepped into each other's spaces. No Gi-jun's home was stocked with food and essentials, while Kang Han-deul's had little more than a toaster. Despite the awkwardness, they exchanged texts with excitement and naturally commuted together the next day.
No Gi-jun and Kang Han-deul also sought to redefine their relationship. Kang Han-deul easily listed options like neighbors, coworkers, and friends but hesitated at the fourth option. "It's somewhere between three and four, but I can't find the right term. Our relationship is too ambiguous," she admitted. No Gi-jun responded, "Then let's be ambiguous. I'll be safe. Protecting Han-deul?" marking a special moment in defining their unique bond.
Meanwhile, news of Woo Sun-hee's insurance claim reached the TF team. To prevent the divorce of Park Young-kyu and Woo Sun-hee, who had already filed papers in court, the team visited them directly. At Park Young-kyu's clinic, No Gi-jun, An Jeon-man (played by Lee Kwang-soo), and Na Dae-bok (played by Kim Won-hae) noticed something suspicious: Park Young-kyu had stopped seeing patients and disappeared with a mysterious woman. Woo Sun-hee's situation was also tense. Despite suggestions to attend couple's therapy during the grace period, she remained firm. Yet, when asked about the reason for the divorce, her response, "My husband is still so lively," hinted at underlying loneliness.
Faced with an inevitable divorce, No Gi-jun recalled a clause in the divorce insurance policy stating that only those not currently having an affair could be insured. The team was thrilled at the prospect of voiding the contract, but Kang Han-deul felt conflicted. No Gi-jun dismissed her concerns, emphasizing the project's success over Woo Sun-hee's potential hurt, marking their first disagreement.
That night, No Gi-jun sought out Kang Han-deul to apologize for the day's events. Worried his words might have hurt her, Kang Han-deul explained she was just trying to understand her feelings of disappointment. No Gi-jun approached her, saying, "I can't be safe. No, I won't," as he gently held her shoulders.
Meanwhile, An Jeon-man, who had only one chair in his home, brought in a new one, thinking of Jeon Na-rae (played by Lee Da-hee). Reflecting on a mistakenly sent text, Jeon Na-rae recalled their past interactions. As both An Jeon-man and Jeon Na-rae left their homes, their growing presence in each other's lives sparked curiosity about their future.
The eighth episode of tvN's 'Divorce Insurance' airs tonight (22nd) at 8:50 PM.
