On the recent episode of Channel A's 'Four-Person Table', singer and artist Solbi shared her journey of overcoming personal struggles through painting. The episode, which aired on the 21st, featured Solbi alongside Lee Min-woo, Brian, and Kwon Hyuk-soo.
Solbi opened up about her unexpected path to becoming an artist, revealing the pain and challenges she faced in the past. Around 2008, during a period of active career, she experienced a slump. She recounted the difficult times dealing with cyberbullying and false rumors of an explicit video in 2009.
She further shared, "Personal issues compounded during that time." Solbi had to care for her sick mother, repay her father's debts, and suffered a loss of approximately 200 million won due to a burglary. "With so many bad things happening, I felt like I lost my sense of worth. I questioned if I was needed in this world," she confessed.
In a moment of deep reflection, Solbi embarked on a 13-hour solo hike up Jirisan Mountain, contemplating the end of her life. "As I cried and rested along the way, I reached the summit and heard a voice telling me to use my talents to help those who are suffering," she recounted.
From that moment, Solbi began to see the world as a beautiful place and felt reborn, leading her to start painting. "After I started painting, I learned to love myself more. It's not about seeking attention or love from others, but living a life true to myself. That alone is meaningful," she expressed.
