Taeyeon's much-anticipated concert in Japan has been officially canceled.
On the 29th, SM Entertainment announced through its official channels that the 'TAEYEON CONCERT - THE TENSE IN JAPAN' scheduled for October 19-20 in Tokyo would not proceed. The company stated, "Despite exploring various options for a replacement venue, we were unable to find a location that could accommodate the audience and meet the stage production requirements."
SM Entertainment expressed their regret, saying, "We sincerely apologize to the fans who were eagerly awaiting the concert. We ask for your understanding as we took time to carefully consider all possible options." All purchased tickets will be fully refunded, and details can be checked through each purchase platform's My Page and email notifications.
The Tokyo concert was part of Taeyeon's Asia tour celebrating her 10th anniversary as a solo artist. However, just two days before the event, on October 17, it was abruptly halted due to equipment transportation delays. At that time, SM Entertainment announced, "The equipment used for the Asia tour could not be transported to Japan, making it impossible to prepare for the concert."
Taeyeon shared her feelings on a fan communication platform, stating, "I hate this situation and feel sorry for my fans. It feels like my concert, created with everyone's efforts and expectations, has vanished in an instant." She added, "I don't know how to describe this feeling of emptiness and disappointment."
Taeyeon also supported her fans by sharing the full statement from the global fan alliance demanding feedback and compensation regarding the Tokyo concert cancellation on her social media.
