Reporter-turned YouTuber Kim Yong-ho (47) was found dead in a hotel in Busan.

According to the police on the 12th, Mr. Kim was found dead at a hotel in Haeundae-gu, Busan around 1 p.m. A hotel employee who found Mr. Kim dead on the 4th floor reported it to the fire department and police. The police believe that the deceased made an extreme choice and are investigating the exact circumstances.

Mr. Kim was handed over to trial on charges of forcibly molesting a woman at a restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, in July 2019. The day before, on the 11th, the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Court ordered 8 months in prison, 2 years probation, 120 hours of community service, and 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.

In addition, an arrest warrant was requested on charges of taking money from a number of celebrities by promising not to write articles exposing their weaknesses, and the suspect was to be interrogated (substantive warrant review) before arrest.

During her lifetime, Ms. Kim was at the center of controversy for broadcasting slander against a number of celebrities, including actresses Jeon Ji-hyun, Kim Sung-ryeong, Han Ye-seul, Song Hye-kyo, Kim Hye-soo, and Seo Jang-hoon. In particular, former Minister Cho Kuk, Kim Gun-mo's former wife Jang, and Park Soo-hong and Kim Da-ye were embroiled in lawsuits.

Mr. Kim raised suspicions about the private lives of former Minister Cho Kuk and Mr. Jang, was found guilty of defamation, and was sentenced to eight months in prison in the first trial. Afterwards, he apologized to former Minister Cho Kuk and Mr. Jang by uploading a video directly on his YouTube channel last August. A legal lawsuit was in progress with Park Soo-hong and Kim Da-ye.

Meanwhile, when former Captain Lee Geun heard the news of Mr. Kim's death, he shared the article on his YouTube community and wrote, "Death XXXX! This is how all cyber wreckers will end. Out of inferiority complex, they lied XX and ended up saying XX." He added, "For the win. CHEERS."

Previously, Lee Geun filed a complaint against Mr. Kim, who discussed his career and sexual harassment controversy, on charges of spreading false information and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. However, even though Lee Geun had a quarrel with Mr. Kim during his lifetime, many people are frowning because he made crude mockery over the deceased's death.

Mr. Kim is a former Sports World reporter who has appeared on the Ga Se-yeon (Garo Vertical Research Institute) YouTube channel and runs his own channel, ‘Kim Yong-ho, Entertainment Manager.’
