Choi Dong-wook, ‘Korea’s first DJ’, passed away on the 17th
Choi Dong-wook, known as ‘Korea’s first disc jockey (DJ)’, passed away at the age of 87.

According to broadcasters and the popular music industry on the 18th, the deceased passed away the day before due to old age.

The deceased joined Dong-A Broadcasting (DBS) in 1963 as a PD in the first public recruitment process and took charge of the production and hosting of Dong-A Broadcasting's 'Top Tune Show' from October 5, 1964, opening the era of domestic broadcast DJs.

Choi Dong-wook is a person who played a pioneering role as a radio broadcast DJ. In the 1970s and 1980s, he also worked as a newspaper reporter for Seoul Shinmun and Sports Dongan.

Survivors include his wife, Choi Seung-soo, and sons, Seong-won and Seong-gi. The funeral is in room 6 of Yonsei University's Sinchon Funeral Home, and the funeral is scheduled for 5:20 a.m. on the 20th. Jangji Seoul City Seunghwa Center.
