Philip Choi said, "We will continue to strive to remember this as a blessing in our lives." He added, "Even though Dowoon's case has come to an end, I am not at peace. The reason is that even at this time, many children are hurting and their families are struggling. “Because I know that there is. I will try to think about what we can do together for pediatric cancer patients and their families. And we will always pray together.”

Philip Choi, who married a non-celebrity 9 years his junior in 2017, welcomed a daughter in 2019 and a son in February of last year.

In June 2022, our second child, Dowoon, was diagnosed with childhood cancer. And today I received news of the termination from the professor in charge.

As a parent, the only thing I could do for this child was the attitude of accepting this situation. Our family decided to postpone judgment about this difficult situation. Of course, it is a very painful and difficult time, but I thought that we could evaluate this before we go to heaven.

There must be a reason why the Lord allowed this. It seems that I have lived with that belief until now.

However, in the process of three general anesthesia surgeries and six rounds of chemotherapy, we were not always able to face this situation with strength.

However, thanks to the miraculous signs shown each time, the word of the Lord, and the grace of the Lord, it seems as if our family has walked hand in hand, step by step.

Having a sick child was certainly a difficult situation, but it was not just hardship because we passionately met the Lord in it. And we will continue to strive to remember this as a blessing in our lives.

Even though Dowoon has come to an end, he is not relieved because he knows that many children are hurting and their families are struggling even at this time.

We would like to think about what we can do together for pediatric cancer patients and their families. And we will always pray together.

To our little hero Dowoon, who has overcome this time so well, I am truly grateful and blessed. My first child, Doyeon, who is only four years old, I am so grateful and love you for understanding and enduring all the situations.

Lastly, let us pray together so that our family will become a family that is completely surrendered to the Lord in the future for my beloved wife, Kwon Eun-hye, who has been my greatest support at every moment.
