Singer KCM attended the funeral of the late Wheesung, staying by his side until the end.

On the afternoon of the 16th, KCM shared a heartfelt message, "Sung-ah, you worked so hard. Now rest in peace. I won't forget you. Let's sing together on stage again someday," along with a photo of the columbarium where Wheesung's ashes are kept. It has been confirmed that KCM accompanied Wheesung to his final resting place.

KCM and Wheesung were originally scheduled to hold a joint ballad concert on the 15th. However, the concert was canceled due to Wheesung's sudden passing. KCM was reportedly one of the first to visit Wheesung's memorial, showing his deep affection for the late singer.

Meanwhile, on the morning of the same day, Wheesung's funeral and memorial service were held at Seoul Samsung Hospital in Gangnam, Seoul. After the service, Wheesung's brother, Choi Hyuk-sung, spoke about the difficulties Wheesung faced in life, offering comfort to fans and colleagues.

Choi reflected on Wheesung's reserved nature at home, noting that while he was not openly affectionate, he often expressed warmth through text messages. Colleagues in the entertainment industry also described Wheesung as "a truly warm and caring person."

However, Choi revealed that Wheesung struggled with unavoidable mental challenges and loneliness. "My brother was very caring and warm, but he was always lonely and troubled. Our family wanted to understand why. We tried very hard and really wanted to help," he said. "There were aspects that couldn't be changed by anyone's efforts. We can't blame my brother, nor can we blame the family or fans. We must acknowledge that some things are beyond control," he added, suppressing his grief.

Choi continued, "The psychiatrist who treated my brother came to pay respects and said, 'I'm sorry it turned out this way.' They tried very hard. But that's how illnesses are; some things are beyond human control," he said. "If everything could be solved through effort, it wouldn't be human life. So, I hope you don't blame yourselves too much," he consoled.

Choi concluded, "Though my brother's body has stopped, his music and songs will remain. Even when we grow older than the image in his portrait, his songs will still be here," he said. "You can listen to his songs anytime. I will make sure my brother lives longer than any of us through his music, so please don't be too sad."
