BTS's J-Hope Discusses Post-Military Plans and Group Comeback

On October 23, the YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae-hyung' released a video titled "BTS Members Discharging One by One... Hobi, You Have Plans, Right?!?" In the video, J-Hope candidly shared stories from his military service, his post-discharge plans, and the possibility of BTS reuniting as a complete group.
Jae-hyung mentioned, "RM has visited my house a few times. We met while he was working on his album and even had drinks together. But I've never seen you," to which J-Hope replied, "I don't often attend drinking gatherings."
Regarding his trip to the U.S. after discharge, J-Hope explained, "It was something I planned before enlisting. I wanted to go to the U.S. to study, immerse myself in the culture, and work on projects. Although I couldn't stay long, I spent about a month there and found it very inspiring."
Reflecting on his military life, he shared, "About a month before discharge, I started feeling anxious. I had grown accustomed to military life and worried about adjusting to civilian life. I took baths confidently, thinking I should just be bold about it," he laughed. He continued, "After finishing boot camp, I served as an instructor. I was so tense that I didn't think about anything when I slept. When I closed my eyes, it was morning. But when morning came, I felt sad."
J-Hope's first performance post-discharge was at the 'Yellow Coin Charity Event' in Paris, France. He expressed, "I was worried fans wouldn't come since it wasn't a full group performance, but I was pleasantly surprised. It made me realize how much our team is loved." The first member to contact him after the performance was Jimin. J-Hope shared, "Jimin sent me a photo biting his tongue, saying 'You showed off,' which motivated me for my solo performance."
Discussing BTS's success, J-Hope humbly stated, "We were lucky. We naturally rode the wave as social media was booming." He added, "When we attended the 2017 AMAs, I realized our popularity was extraordinary."

He continued, "Each member is passionate about music. We inspire each other. When someone does well, it makes others think, 'I should do that too.' That's the driving force of our team."
When Jae-hyung commented, "It must be challenging to coordinate since all seven members have different aspirations," J-Hope emphasized, "It's difficult but meaningful. If we argue over a group album, there's no solution. So, it's important to harmonize well."
