Kim Soo-hyun's Film 'Real' Climbs Netflix Charts Amidst Personal Controversy

On the 30th, 'Real' ranked 4th on Netflix's 'Today's Top 10 Movies in South Korea.' This surge in viewership appears to be linked to the recent controversy involving Kim Soo-hyun's personal life, as well as allegations that the film's late actress Sulli was pressured into filming revealing scenes during production.
Released in 2017, 'Real' follows the story of Jang Tae-young, a crime boss facing the threat of losing his casino 'Siesta' to the underworld kingpin Jo Won-geun. In a bid to resolve financial issues, Jang Tae-young seeks out investors. Kim Soo-hyun plays dual roles as both the crime boss and a mysterious investor.
Previously, the family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed through the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Institute' that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun from November 19, 2015, when she was in middle school, until July 7, 2021. They also alleged that after leaving her agency, she received a notice from Gold Medalist demanding repayment of a 700 million won debt, causing her psychological distress.
Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted these claims, stating that they dated from the summer of 2019, when Kim Sae-ron was an adult, until the fall of 2020. The two parties continue to dispute the truth. Kim Soo-hyun plans to hold a press conference on the 31st to address the situation.
