K-Pop Star Lee Chan-won's Fan Club 'Chance' Donates to Wildfire Relief Efforts

On the 1st of the month, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced that Lee Chan-won's fan club 'Chance' donated 122.29 million KRW (approximately $92,000) to support wildfire victims. This follows Lee Chan-won's personal donation of 100 million KRW (approximately $75,000) on the 25th to aid his hometown Ulsan and other affected areas.
The funds from 'Chance' will be used for emergency relief, provision of daily necessities, and operation of temporary shelters for residents in wildfire-affected regions such as Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
This is not the first time the fandom has shown such generosity. They have previously donated a total of 280 million KRW (approximately $210,000) during national disasters, including floods in 2022 and wildfires on the East Coast. With this latest contribution, their cumulative donations have reached 400 million KRW (approximately $300,000).
Members of Lee Chan-won's fan club 'Chance' expressed, "Inspired by the singer's love and acts of sharing, we decided to raise funds to bring hope. We aim to share and support the pain of the displaced victims."
Shin Hoon, Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, stated, "The donation is even more meaningful as it comes from both the singer and his fans united in purpose. We will continue to provide systematic and ongoing support to ensure the warm hearts of the fans and the singer reach those affected by disasters."
Hope Bridge is currently providing over 440,000 relief items, including emergency kits, shelter partitions, blankets, daily necessities, bottled water, and food to wildfire-affected areas. They are also supporting laundry services in shelters and providing meals for firefighters and on-site response teams.
