Actress Bae Doo-na said that she thinks the movie 'Broker' will be a work of sorrow for her.

On the morning of the 2nd, Bae Doo-na told various stories about the upcoming movie 'Next Sohee' (directed by Jeong Ju-ri) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

'Next Sohee' is an intense story about an incident that Sohee (played by Si-eun Kim), a confident 18-year-old high school student, experiences while going on field training, and Eugene (played by Doo-na Bae), a detective who investigates it, encounters it in the same space but at a different time.

In the play, Bae Doo-na plays the role of Oh Yu-jin, a detective who returns to work after a long absence. Oh Yu-jin is a character who retraces So-hee's footsteps.

On this day, Bae Doo-na said, "It's been a long time since I stood in front of the camera. I couldn't participate in the 'Broker' schedule because I was filming a movie in the United States. I felt like I was going to cry after watching the movie during the press preview of 'Next Sohee'. I was the most nervous on the day of the press preview." I didn't watch it during the preview because I felt like I would cry. I received the screener the day before and watched it. You can't go out with swollen eyes, right?" he said, making everyone laugh.

He continued, "As expected, I thought it was well made. When I watched the movie through the screener, it was at the level of checking. I don't know if it's just me, but I can't watch it objectively. When I filmed the movie, I knew the situation and the script. So, I watched it while checking. "You start with that. I recently saw the movie 'Korea' from 10 years ago, and I thought, 'That was good acting.' Now I understand. I think it will be a little different when I see it in the theater," he added.

'Next Sohee' is the first Korean film to be selected as the closing film of the Critics Week at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival. In particular, Bae Doo-na was invited to the Cannes International Film Festival for director Hirokazu Koreeda's 'Broker', but was unable to join the schedule due to filming 'Level Moon'.

Bae Doo-na, who said she was disappointed, said, "I haven't seen 'Broker' in theaters yet, which is supposed to be a work that will become Han. When I came to Korea, it was already sold out. I went to the UK to see 'Broker'. Filming was in LA. “It ended in October of last year, and I came to Korea at the end of October and asked director Hirokazu Kore-eda where it was currently being released.”

Bae Doo-na said, "That's why I really wanted to go to the Busan International Film Festival. I said I would go, but filming was delayed by two weeks, so I missed it. I heard that it was starting to be released in Europe, so I went to the UK. They said it would be released in February. I went to Italy, but it was already there. “It was canceled. That’s why I haven’t seen ‘Broker’ in the theater yet,” he explained.

He also said, "I heard that it will be released in the UK, so I absolutely want to see it in the theater. Since I am a theater actor, I want to see it on the screen. It may seem old-fashioned to say this, but people who make theater movies want to see the movie in the theater."

Meanwhile, 'Next Sohee' will be released on the 8th.
