Actor Sol Kyung-gu (56) spoke about his role as Junji in ‘Ghost’.

On the 12th, Sol Kyung-gu told stories about his work and life in an interview with the movie 'Ghost' (director Lee Hae-young) at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

On this day, Sol Kyeong-gu said, "I saw the movie for the first time at the preview yesterday," and laughed, "Others didn't see it, but only I watched it. I watched it all the way to the end."

He then said about his character Junji, "I thought it was a functional role. I did it functionally because the female characters had to appear well. That's why I wanted to ask them to leave my name behind, but putting my name first would in itself cause confusion." “I thought I could do it, so I left it as is,” he said.

Sol Kyung-gu plays the role of Junji Murayama in the play. He was born in the 7th generation of the prestigious Murayama family to a Japanese father and a Korean mother. He was an elite soldier who was on the road to success, but he was demoted and sent to the communications department as a supervisor. He succeeded in arresting a 'ghost' and dreams of returning to the police department.

Regarding this character, Sol Kyeong-gu explained, “The twist is that Junji goes the same direction without any twists,” and “I approached it with a feeling of pity.”

Meanwhile, when asked about the character he encountered with the most compassion, Sol Kyung-gu chose the role of Kim Young-ho in the movie 'Peppermint Candy' (director Lee Chang-dong, 2000). Sol Kyeong-gu said, "I couldn't shake off Youngho for a long time even after filming. It was painful even when I went to other filming locations. There must have been love and hate." He looked back and said, “Even on set, I would avoid the director or staff if they were present and just walk around,” adding, “I think it was probably because I felt sorry for not being able to do what I wanted.”

'Ghost' is a story about the desperate struggle of suspects trapped in a remote hotel under suspicion as 'ghosts', spies planted by an anti-Japanese organization planted at the Japanese Government-General of Korea in Gyeongseong in 1933, and the unstoppable operation of the real 'ghosts' to overcome suspicion and escape. .

Released on January 18th.
