Kim Shin-rok Shines in 'Uprising' with Powerful Performance

'Uprising' is a film set in the tumultuous era of the Japanese invasions of Korea, depicting the story of Jong-ryeo, the son of the greatest military family in Joseon, and his servant Cheon-young, who meet again as enemies, one as the king's closest military officer and the other as a volunteer soldier.
Amidst the praise for its thrilling storyline, action, and flawless performances by the cast, Kim Shin-rok has drawn attention for her significant presence as Beom-dong in 'Uprising'.


Kim Shin-rok's performance, which always earns trust, was impressive once again. She naturally delivered the Jeolla dialect, making the character's lines resonate with the audience, and enhanced the dynamic development with her sense of tempo.
Kim Shin-rok expressed Beom-dong's unique upright spirit with her piercing gaze, tightly closed lips, and diverse expressions. Her portrayal of a character who doesn't bow to numerous enemies and the prevailing social hierarchy revealed a strong inner self. Through this, Kim Shin-rok's Beom-dong was completed as a character strong both inside and out.
The tears shed by Beom-dong, who seemed strong at all times, touched everyone's hearts. When she bid farewell to her fellow volunteer soldiers one by one, her tears, capturing her collapsing heart, left a deep and profound impression.

In 'Uprising', Kim Shin-rok stood out once again. Having traversed various genres across television, film, stage, and OTT platforms, Kim Shin-rok has now conquered the historical drama genre with 'Uprising', adding more vibrant colors to her filmography. As a result, she is emerging as a 'genre all-rounder' offering a delightful variety of choices.
Having reaffirmed her outstanding capabilities through 'Uprising', Kim Shin-rok will also appear in the upcoming Netflix series 'Hellbound' Season 2, set to be released on the 25th.
