Baby Monster, 'Blackpink's little brother', has millions of followers before debut
New girl group Baby Monster (BABYMONSTER) has gathered many followers on social media even before their official debut.

According to YG Entertainment on the 21st, Baby Monster's official SNS channel, which was opened in February this year, recorded 248,000 Twitter, 2.22 million Instagram, and 200,000 Facebook views over the past four months. During the same period, the average increase in the top 10 K-pop girl groups on the platform was 290,000, 1.51 million, and 98,000, respectively. It is YG's analysis that even before their official debut, they are gaining explosive popularity comparable to artists who have already formed a large fandom.

TikTok, an influential platform in the global pop market, has reached 2.8 million followers. This is the second highest increase among K-pop girl groups after Blackpink. The official Facebook follower also recorded about 200,000, the second highest figure after Blackpink. On Instagram, the number of followers increased by 970,000 in the month of May alone. After the final member was announced on the 12th of last month, the number of followers soared by more than 480,000 within a week.

As of the 21st, the number of YouTube subscribers is about 2.92 million, and the cumulative number of content views has exceeded 500 million. Among a total of 150 countries, Asia has the most subscribers to Baby Monster's YouTube channel. Among them, the United States, the world's major music market, ranked 6th overall.

Baby Monster's 'DREAM' is a song about the process that Baby Monster has been building towards a dream and a new beginning. After its release on the 14th of last month, it recorded the highest number of views among a total of 45 contents posted on Baby Monster YouTube.

Baby Monster is a girl group released by YG about 7 years after BLACKPINK. YG said, “From the beginning, we aimed at the global market and composed multinational groups such as Korea (Ahyeon, Haram, Laura), Thailand (Parita, Chiquita), and Japan (Luka, Asa), and we systematically trained with a great emphasis on language. We will come closer to the world's music fans. After our debut this fall, we will go beyond the domestic music industry and change the game of the global music market."
