Jennie of BLACKPINK Faces Criticism for Short and Underwhelming Solo Concert

On the 15th, Jennie held 'The Ruby Experience' at Inspire Arena in Incheon, celebrating the release of her first solo album 'Ruby.' The concert featured all 15 tracks from the album. The tour began at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on the 6th and 7th, continued at Radio City Music Hall in New York on the 10th, and concluded in Incheon.
The event was attended by several celebrities, including Yoo Jae-suk, actress Kim Ji-won, and singer-actress Hyeri. BLACKPINK's Rosé also showed her support, along with former YG artists Daesung of BIGBANG and Lee Seung-hoon of WINNER. The appearance of NewJeans in the audience was met with cheers.

Overwhelmed by the audience's response, Jennie shed tears, asking the crowd to cheer for her. She admitted, "I promised not to cry, but seeing all of you here makes me so grateful and happy."

The concert's production also faced criticism. Jennie's live vocals were overshadowed by AR sounds, and her choice to wear sunglasses throughout the performance detracted from her expressive stage presence. Additionally, her focus on cameras rather than the audience diminished the live experience.

The concert ended after just 80 minutes, with the cheapest tickets priced at approximately $107. Typically, concerts of this price range last 2-3 hours. Despite having a repertoire of BLACKPINK and solo songs, Jennie performed only tracks from her new album.
Fans expressed disappointment at the concert's abrupt end, with many unaware it was over until the lights came on. Some had traveled long distances, including international fans who flew in with large suitcases, only to find the concert shorter than their travel time.
