Nevertheless, Kim Young-cheol attracted attention by saying that he had overcome the sadness of that time and was living a more exciting life. Recalling his brother's funeral, he confessed, "There has never been a sadder day than that day, that day, that week, that day of the funeral," and "that's why I live my life more happily."

Kim Young-cheol also confessed his longing for his father. He appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star' and talked about the book he wrote, saying, "It contains my family history, the story of my parents' divorce when I was in my second year of high school, and the story of not being able to see my father often."

He then spoke about the time when he heard the news of the death of his father, whom he had not seen since his second year of high school. He said, "When I heard the news of my father's death, I thought, 'Do I really have to go to the funeral?' and the second thought was, 'I want to go see my father quickly.'" He said, "In front of the portrait of my father, I asked, 'Father, why are you the only one there?' "Did you hate him that much? He said that he became a great person despite the painful wounds and deficiencies caused by his father."
