Jung Yong-hwa and Cha Tae-hyun work together to identify the culprit

The second episode of KBS 2TV's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Brain Collaboration', which aired on the 3rd, recorded a national viewership rating of 4.1% and a metropolitan area viewership rating of 3.8% based on Nielsen Korea, ranking first in its time slot for the second consecutive episode. The highest viewership rating rose to 4.5% in the scene where neurologist Hwang Dong-woo (played by Jeong Dong-hwan) is imprisoned in prison.
On this day's broadcast, neuroscientist Shin Haru (played by Jung Yong-hwa) and detective Geum Myeong-se (played by Cha Tae-hyun), who are impatient because they cannot catch each other, begin their first collaboration to solve the 'Kim Jae-won death case'.
Geum Myeong-se, who heard the news that he and Shin Haru were teamed up, protested, saying, "I can't cooperate with this person." They ended up joining hands with their bosses, Kim Kye-jang (played by Woo Hyun) and Seol So-jeong (played by Kwak Sun-young). However, Shin Haru immediately declared that the real culprit in Kim Jae-won's death was not Kim Jae-won's wife, Jeong In-young (played by Han Soo-yeon), embarrassing Geum Myeong-se.
As the two people's cooperation began, Shin Haru surprised Geum Myeong-se by telling him about the connection between 'brain capacity' and 'wise choice', that a person has a limited amount of wise choices per day. Then, with all the neuroscience team members gathered, Jeong In-young arrived for a reinvestigation. Shin Haru, who was watching the investigation, claimed that Jeong In-young's confession was incompetent as evidence, saying that she was suffering from 'Korsakoff syndrome' (a memory disorder caused by brain damage) caused by alcoholism. Moreover, someone surprised everyone by saying that someone took advantage of Jung In-young's disability and made her think that she was the criminal.
Kim Jae-won's doctor, Kim Hee-joo (Song Min-ji), who was a suspect, was summoned. The two met with Kim Jae-won's doctor. When Shin Haru denied the doctor's question about whether he was trying to accuse Jeong In-young of being the culprit, Shin Haru finally threw a fastball, saying, "Because I love you." The doctor responded, “As a fan, I love Jaewon Kim,” but at that moment, the patient with speech loss who was in charge of the doctor burst into laughter and disappeared. To Geum Myeong-se, who was confused, Shin Haru said, “Among language loss patients, there are people who are very adept at detecting lies.” Jung In-young also testified about the relationship between Kim Jae-won and his doctor, and Kim Jae-won's manager (played by Moon Won-joo) reported the scene where the doctor threw away his cell phone, confirming that the doctor was the real culprit.
However, at this time, it was reported that contact with the attending physician had been lost. Geum Myeong-se said, “There is a suspicious smell,” and tried to dispatch. Shin Haru, who followed, arrived at the scene after many twists and turns due to rough driving, but the bleeding doctor and Jung In-young, who had been stabbed with a knife, appeared and the scene turned into chaos. The neuroscience team members were shaken by the unexpected situation, and the search for the real culprit once again became difficult. Meanwhile, Shin Haru, who was concentrating on his tablet, found a clue when Geum Myeong-se said, "Isn't there a wiretapping app installed?" and after tracking him down, he identified the culprit. In response, Shin Haru provoked Geum Myeong-se, who was in the bathroom, by saying, "I found the culprit. Let's go catch him," and headed to Kim Jae-won's agency.
Shin Haru, sitting in front of the manager, conducted a test on the 'Jjajangmyeon, Jjambbong' option that Geum Myeong-se had given. Seeing the manager fussing during the test, he said, "Seeing that my impulse control ability has decreased, I guess my brain is overloaded." I caught every lie I told. Then, he presented two cell phones and accused the manager of criminal activity, destroying one by one the alibis that the manager had put forward. However, as the manager continued to deny it, Geum Myung-se added to the tension by saying, "If you do forensics, it will come out right away," and taking the cell phone as evidence. As Shin Haru and Geum Myeong-se expected, the manager went up to the roof after the two left and checked the cell phone he had hidden in the dirt. As soon as two people appeared, he ran away. Geum Myung-se got into a heated fight with the manager. Shin Haru, who was ignoring this, faced a dizzying moment when the manager threatened Geum Myeong-se with scissors, and saved Geum Myeong-se from danger by dropping the scissors with a sharp kick.
The manager who was caught confessed that he committed the crime for Kim Jae-won, who wanted to show his best until the end. However, Geum Myung-se said, "The brightest moment for us is this moment when we are breathing together with you... Shouldn't you have said this? If you really care about Jae-won Kim." Afterwards, it was revealed that the manager was trying to use Kim Jae-won's death to make money. Geum Myeong-se once again made a sharp remark, saying, "Don't attach love to me for no reason. It's unpleasant to hear love." And the next day after all the cases were resolved, while Shin Haru was surrounded by reporters who flocked to brief him on the case, Geum Myeong-se revealed his gradually changing feelings by recalling Shin Haru, who saved him, and saying to himself, "I suddenly want to believe."
In the ending, Shin Haru, who witnessed Geum Myeong-se receiving money from someone, captured the scene with a camera and then reported 'police corruption' to the newspaper. The smile disappeared from Shin Haru's face as he checked the article the next day, while Geum Myeong-se was seen bursting into happy laughter, raising curiosity about what happened to the two.
