Netflix has confirmed the production of the second season of the variety show 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War'.

Since its release on September 17, 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' became the first Korean variety show to top Netflix's global TOP 10 TV non-English category for three consecutive weeks. The show is set to return with an even more intense culinary class war in its second season, which is slated for release in the latter half of next year.

Season 2 will once again see the collaboration of directors Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji from Studio Slam, along with writer Mo Eun-seol, to deliver an upgraded culinary class war. Directors Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji expressed their gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the viewers, we are able to proceed to Season 2. We will strive to meet the expectations and love."

'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' captivated audiences worldwide with its unprecedented and dynamic missions, reminiscent of sports matches and martial arts novels. The fierce competition among chefs, the overwhelming scale, and unpredictable outcomes kept viewers on the edge of their seats. The journey to find the best 'taste' led by Korea's top culinary mentor Baek Jong-won and Michelin 3-star chef Ahn Sung-jae of 'Mosu Seoul' received immense love. Baek Jong-won showcased his broad knowledge and experience in 'taste', while Ahn Sung-jae, at the pinnacle of fine dining, meticulously judged the cooking techniques, seasoning, and the chefs' intentions, earning praise for opening a new horizon in culinary survival shows.

The show also dominated domestic popularity. For four weeks following its release, it swept Korea into a 'Black and White Chef' frenzy, topping the Good Data Corporation's FUNdex TV-integrated survey results for three consecutive weeks. It also became the first OTT variety show to rank first in Gallup Korea's 'Favorite Programs of Koreans' survey in September.

Netflix is preparing to launch a lineup of fresh and diverse variety shows following the global phenomenon of 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War'.

'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' is a culinary class war involving 100 chefs, where the highly skilled 'Black Spoon' chefs challenge the top star 'White Spoon' chefs in a fierce competition.
