Korean singer Park Gun, aged 39, is facing significant health challenges, including a herniated disc, gout, and a torn shoulder ligament.

On the October 19th episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Perfect Life,' Park Gun made an appearance. Upon his entrance, he immediately apologized to host Hyun Young due to a previous mix-up involving her name and that of his wife, Han Young. Park Gun married Han Young, who is eight years his senior, in April 2022.

Park Gun shared, "There was quite a commotion when I got married." Hyun Young recalled, "I was just minding my own business when an article came out saying I was marrying Park Gun," adding with a laugh, "I felt good about it." She also mentioned her friendship with Han Young.

Having served in the Special Forces for 15 years, Park Gun was asked about his physical condition. He admitted, "My muscles have significantly weakened." He explained, "In February 2022, I tore a ligament in my right shoulder. I also developed a herniated disc, which worsened due to neglect, leading to surgery in 2023." He further revealed, "After 15 years in the military, my cartilage is worn out. I thought the pain in my feet was plantar fasciitis, but it turned out to be gout. I had been in pain since my military days, thinking it was due to the strenuous training."

Approaching 40, Park Gun confessed, "Frequent drinking, stress, and lack of sleep led to gastritis." He added, "Recently, I experienced severe pain in my temples, and the doctor said it was an early sign of shingles. I came to realize my body is inflamed."

Park Gun's mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer when he was in middle school. She was given a prognosis of seven months to live in her early 40s. Park Gun shared, "The doctors said she might live for seven months, but she lived for nearly seven years." He recounted, "I had to join the military after graduation, but I couldn't support her if I did. I saw a poster saying the Special Forces paid a salary and provided housing, so I joined without telling her." He added, "My mother passed away while I was serving."

On the show, Park Gun enjoyed a day out in Seoul and a birthday party with his aunts. He expressed, "I was touched by the birthday party they prepared. Given our financial struggles, I never imagined having a party. I've celebrated with friends but never with family." He added, "My aunts remind me of my mother. I call them whenever I miss her."
