Netflix's 'Poksak': The Men of IU Steal the Spotlight

'Poksak' concluded its run on the 31st of last month, achieving significant popularity. It was ranked as the number one favorite broadcast program among Koreans (Gallup Korea) and topped the TV-OTT drama buzz category for three consecutive weeks (FunDex). After the release of its third act, it also reached number one in Netflix's Global Top 10 Series (Non-English) category, gaining immense popularity both domestically and internationally.
Though 'Poksak' has ended, the public's interest in the actors remains strong. The show's syndromic popularity is evident as both lead and supporting actors, as well as special appearances, continue to draw attention. Particularly, IU's dual role as Oh Ae-soon and Yang Geum-myung has kept the spotlight on 'IU's Men.'

Lee Jun-young portrayed Park Young-beom, Yang Geum-myung's first love, capturing the essence of a 'good kid' with a bittersweet twist. Despite his indecisiveness between his mother and lover, leading to losing the one he loves, his poignant gaze and bright smile made it impossible for viewers to dislike Young-beom.
Lee Jun-young's casting has been hailed as a masterstroke, with many rediscovering his roots as a former member of the group U-KISS. Viewers expressed surprise, saying, "His acting is so good, I didn't realize he was an idol," and "I can't believe the guy who danced to 'Man Man Ha Ni' is Young-beom."

Kim Seon-ho's signature smile and natural acting created a sweet chemistry with IU. A scene where he drunkenly addresses IU's father with a high-pitched "Father~" brought laughter to viewers. Director Kim Won-seok praised Kim Seon-ho's detailed performance in a commentary video, noting his contributions from slapstick to changes in dialogue tone.
For Park Bo-gum, Lee Jun-young, and Kim Seon-ho, 'Poksak' has become a turning point. The public eagerly anticipates their future performances.
