Hwasa Shares Her Approach to Handling Criticism and Maintaining Confidence
In a recent appearance on the YouTube channel 'SSTW: The Journalist's Interview,' K-pop star Hwasa opened up about her approach to dealing with criticism and maintaining her confidence.
The video, titled 'How to Handle When Someone Seems to Dislike You,' featured Hwasa discussing her strategy for dealing with unwarranted criticism. She shared, "I've experienced it before, and I just ignored it. I even took better care of those who criticized me, thinking their actions stemmed from jealousy. It made me feel sorry for them, and I decided to be even kinder."

When asked about handling misunderstandings with friends, Hwasa explained, "I usually wait until my friend approaches me first. If I realize I'm at fault, I reach out immediately to resolve the issue." She emphasized the importance of effort in maintaining relationships, stating, "If I don't want to lose a friend with whom I have a deep connection, I make every effort. Relationships require effort to sustain."
Hwasa, known for her confident demeanor, also spoke about the source of her confidence. "It's complex and can't be attributed to just one thing. It's a combination of many factors that build up my confidence," she said. "True confidence comes from effort. It gives you a grounded sense of self-assurance."

She added, "It's important to be objective about oneself and reflect often. It's almost a habit for me since I was young. Reflecting on my past can sometimes be daunting, but it helps me grow stronger and more mature."
Previously, during a concert, Hwasa mentioned, "I build my confidence by working hard through failures, regrets, and sadness." She emphasized the importance of focusing on one's emotions and learning from them.
On becoming a 'sexy hot girl,' Hwasa revealed, "You have to focus on your appearance, manage your diet, and it's a tough path. I've shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to maintain it." She concluded, "Ultimately, it's about personality. A person who can captivate with a cheerful atmosphere and a mature vibe is what I consider a 'hot girl.'"

Regarding diet, Hwasa confessed, "I don't usually resist my cravings, which is a problem. However, I do hold back when preparing for a tour or album release. I love late-night snacks, but I often regret it afterward, scolding myself before bed."
Looking ahead, Hwasa shared her plans for the year, stating, "Instead of an album, I'm planning to release a pop ballad single around fall or winter. The song is already completed." She also hinted at a summer release, saying, "I consider summer my signature season, so I'm preparing a summer track as well."
