Bae Doona Reflects on Her Acting Journey and Overcoming Fears on 'Uhm Jung-hwa TV'

On the 27th, the YouTube channel 'Uhm Jung-hwa TV' featured actress Bae Doona as a guest.
Uhm Jung-hwa introduced Bae Doona as an actress with the power to convey emotions through her gaze and demeanor, describing her as a fascinating person with quirky and cute imagination.
Bae Doona expressed her gratitude to Uhm Jung-hwa, saying, "Before appearing, I received a text saying 'Thank you for joining us.' It was the first time a host said that to me. I'm more grateful to be invited to the program."

Having worked as an actress for 20 years, Bae Doona confessed, "I'm familiar with the set and still enjoy acting, but at some point, I experienced burnout. Focusing too seriously on acting was exhausting."
She added, "I thought I needed to refresh myself. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try various activities like variety shows."

In her 20s, Bae Doona published a travel photo book and was open about her private life. She explained, "I realized that if there was too much information about me, it would be hard for people to immerse themselves in the characters I play. From my 30s, I consciously tried not to reveal my private life. I wanted the audience to accept me as I am, regardless of where I live or how I live."
While she acted in romance films in her 20s, Bae Doona shifted to genre films in her 30s. She explained, "I chose the film 'Virus' because I wanted to feel brighter when I was emotionally struggling."

When asked about moments of fear in her acting career, Bae Doona said, "It was never easy. As a young actress, I was afraid of exposure and nude scenes, but having overcome them at 21, I feel I can handle anything now."
Bae Doona also shared, "Being an actress is cool, and I like being one. If I weren't an actress, life would have been tough. However, I'm not sure if I want to act for a long time. I don't aspire to reach a certain level as a great actress. Acting becomes more challenging the more I do it."
